my name is butch.. not really, but my real name bored me after 18 yrs so i changed it. i have a band called The Let?s Go Out Tonites. let?s get this straight... i am a solo artist, but i have a band. so when you stop me and say, ?you look like you?re in a band?, you are correct. but i record and perform as ?Butch Walker and the Let?s Go Out Tonites?. so don?t seem so confused if i look like i am in a band but don?t call myself something like ?Confessions on Bleeding Heart Sundays?. i roll like the old guys.. Costello, Elton, Petty, etc... you see? it?s fucking simple.

my favorite word is ?fuckle?. it?s like one of those pug/beagle hybrids but in a cuss word.

my favorite music is good music. i hate all these sub-post-hyphenated-genre music categories. as a matter of fact, i think i will call Tom at Myspace and tell him to add a new genre called ?Post-Hyphenated-Rock...Core?. sign me up! if you sound like Trapt, i will probably hate you. if you sound like anything Wayne Coyne would play while mowing his yard, i will probably love you. oh and i didn?t say that i sounded like any of these guys.

how come disco music was so cheesy and hated by the punks, but now it?s what every punk indie band sounds like? i?m confused... how do i start this song... four on the floor disco beats y?all. at the end of the day, Gang of Four will lose a fistfight to Tom Petty... get over it.

i never thought i would see the day that rock bands would be turning down big money, major label record deals. i feel kind of bad for labels. i think bands should try to sign Labels. stand in the tuesday morning power-meeting in the back, while on our sidekicks and blackberries, rocking our heads to the beat of their marketing strategies.... then offer them an advance and a limo ride to a strip club. don?t worry.. it?s non-recoupable..

why don?t celebrities go out alone? in pictures, they have to have someone that no one knows with them. when i get famous, i?m gonna go to people?s weddings and funerals that i don?t even know.. solo.

people at restaurants and clubs with bluetooth headsets on should be shot. hard.

in La, when you get stared at by wannabes when you walk through the door, i call that ?walking in someone?s yard?. because that?s what i felt like i just did.. like i offended them for walking into their yard without permission... what?s that stuff you throw on the lawn to kill everything? i want some of that.

is it me, or is the internet getting ?thicker?? magazines getting ?thinner?? nicole ritchie thinner? Adam Yauch?s voice thicker? Mariah?s falsetto thinner? her brain thinner? i?m done with that.

my new record is called ?the rise and fall of butch walker and the let?s-go-out-tonites?. yes it?s a play on the old bowie record. yes i misspelled ?tonite?. yes you are a dumbass any of this bothers you. yes it?s only rock-n-roll ...and i like it.
