Change happens...for quite a long time, the band has been wanting to change the name to something other than The Stewart-Mayfield Project. There are numerous reasons. There have been countless suggestions as to what to change the name to. The guys reached a decision over the past couple of months, let it sit inside their heads, and are now proud to be Moses Mayfield.
Matthew Mayfield started writing songs at the age of 12. He was and still is intrigued by the experimental sounds of Hendrix, Sting, and Peter Gabriel. He greatly admires U2, Coldplay, and Pearl Jam?particularly Eddie Vedder for his onstage intensity and tremendous vocal abilities.
Moses Mayfield has wrapped up work on
their debut album for Epic Records to be released later this fall!
