The pursuit of our dreams can lead us in many directions in life. The hunger for that pursuit is probably the strongest among musicians. And sometimes in the pursuit you load up your possessions in a Jeep Cherokee and a small trailer and set off with $300 dollars in your pocket and a map pointed to Charleston, SC. That is the beginning of the story of two Indiana natives that met in their freshman dorm at Ohios Miami University. Following their graduation in the summer of 2005, Tyler Mechem (vocals/guitar) and Joe Giant (keys/backing vocals) the founding members of Crowfield, did just that and now call South Carolina home. "We got our first gig the second day we were there." says Mechem. "The manager of the venue said he wouldnt pay us and if we sucked, we had to go home." Crowfield didnt have to pack up and knew immediately they had a new home. Bar gigs lead to real gigs and after a prominent promoter in the South Carolina area begin spreading the gospel about the band, their demos fell into a few hands. After a couple of hand shakes, the band ended up in Atlanta, GA recording their first record with producer Rick Beato for his new start up label, Ten Star Records. The album was recorded predominately live over a short 2 week span. The band and Beato enlisted the help of an all star cast of musicians who have performed with the likes of Trey Anastacio, Howie Day, Jump Little Children, Rufus Wainwright and Patti Griffin. The album "Goodbye, Goodnight, So Long Midwestern"" will be released on Ten Star Records in the Spring of 2008.
