Bio

I grew up in Armonk, NY in the 80´s when it was still cool to watch Gi Joe. My mother had an old record player and our house was always filled with music. From Ben E. King to Marvin Gaye to Bonnie Raitt to The Beatles, I had no idea, but I was one lucky kid to have a mother with such good musical taste. Those records became the soundtrack to my life at a very early age. Every summer we would drive to Florida to visit relatives and the entire 24 hour long drive would be filled with singing. I graduated from the University of Delaware where I spent the last several years of my life. As a sophomore I "borrowed" a guitar from a kid that lived in my dorm and never seemed to play it. What started as an idea to cure my boredom became a five hour a day obsession; One that would greatly affect my grades as my eyes became set on the goal of learning as much as I could about the instrument. Once I got bored of playing Dave Matthews songs in my dorm room, I decided it was time to begin writing my own. Almost two years had passed and I was still trying to find the right players to accompany me. Meanwhile, I was still internally debating whether or not to be a solo artist and move home to New York, or to form a rock band in Delaware. If I had chosen the solo artist route, I had these dreams of making a record that was at least in some small way in the vain of the soul/motown records I grew up listening to and singing along with. Finally in 2003, I found the players that would become my band and my decision was made to stay in Delaware. After starting a strong following in Delaware and the surrounding areas, we signed a major record deal in 2005 with major label distribution through Sony BMG. After a couple years of touring; a nationally released record; songs in movies, video games, sports stadiums and television; our relationship with the label slowly turned sour. They were more interested in marketing us as a pop act, and all we wanted to do was make music that we would actually care to listen to. So...we were very gladly dropped from the label and the band eventually parted ways. This pretty much brings you up to date in my musical journey. I am living in New York, currently making the record that was just a tiny spec in my imagination five years ago. Sort of an ode to the sounds of my childhood and more importantly my musical roots. My music has never come from a more real place in my life. I hope that when you listen, it makes you feel something.
