OVER IT came together in Alexandria, VA and they are all friends from the days before high school. Playing together they bring the awesome power of a united force propelling music as the truest emotion. OVER IT songs are clever punked up renditions of the cycle of loss and gain. It is an aggressive sound with strong drums, fluid guitar, moving bass and the voice of youth. What the band reflects are the experiences and dreams of every kid for their own life.
OVER IT played around the hometown and in 1999, while still in high school, released an EP, "Over It"; they toured that year performing from Maine to California. Their debut full-length album, "The Ready Series", was released on Negative Progression Records in the summer of 2000 and OVER IT supported this album with two self-booked full US tours.
OVER IT released a second EP, "Hindsight 20/20" (Negative Progression Records) in the autumn of 2001. On the following support tour, OVER IT met Lobster Records and signed in December of 2001.
?Timing Is Everything? was their debut full-length in September 2002, with production from Cameron Webb (Social Distortion, Motorhead); it is a master step up for the band. Here, for the first time, they display a sense of both large space and great detail in their music. The guitars are relentless, the vocals effortless, the drums intricate and the bass surrounding some of the most well written songs in modern rock. The album opened to great revues and constant touring helped grow their fan base.
OVER IT moved in autumn 2003 to Ventura, CA and Lobster Records upgraded and re-released ?Timing Is Everything" with additional music and videos in December 2003. Inspired by music, hard work and fans, OVER IT became a little big. The band moved to Los Angeles, CA in winter 2004 and in the following year wrote and recorded ?Silverstrand?, produced by Mike Green (The Matches, Rufio), released in March 2005. This album communicates a wide range of feelings through songs both catchy and real, it is like a discovery. OVER IT has become a place where you can find yourself, they will continue to evolve, the future is bright over here.
