Crash Kings will release their new album entitledDark of the Daylight on June 18th. The good news is that the album is finished and ready for your listening pleasure. It was carefully crafted in Los Angelesby the band and their extraordinarily talented producer Nick Launay (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, the list goes on...). The bad news is that their label has decided not to continue funding their project like they were before so they've been doing what we can just to get the record out (legally) so people can enjoy it.Now its finally going to happen! For an even more detailed description of our story and why the long delay, please read the bio section of their Kickstarter page.

Singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, poet and political activist Serj Tankian is independently releasing two albums this summer through his own Serjical Strike Records.
Orca, Tankian's first true symphony, will be released on June 25 and the collaborative jazz infused album Jazz-iz Christ will be released on July 23.
Recorded in Linz, Austria in October of 2012, Orca was composed and demoed in Tankian's home studio and fully realized after a successful Kickstarter campaign that helped fund a recording and debut performance at the regal Brucknerhaus with the "Das Karussell Ensemble". With conductor Werner Steinmetz at the helm, the four acts of Orca mix influences from early 20th century composers with modern film compositional dynamics showing influences ranging from Ennio Morricone to Philip Glass. Listeners are met with a mingling of sounds and intertwining pieces that are both serene and bombastic at the same time, offering a fresh interpretation to the classical art.
According to Tankian, "Orca is known as the killer whale, but is really a dark dolphin, a symbolism for human dichotomy."
Jazz-iz Christ is Serj's brainchild, but truly is a collaborative effort between many musicians that Tankian curated to be part of the group and self-titled album. Among others, there are considerable contributions from renowned pianist Tigran Hamasyan, flautist Valeri Tolstov, and trumpet player Tom Duprey. Additional performances from Stewart Copeland and actor/musician Davis Alpay and Vincent Pedulla make for a very unique collaboration. The 15 tracks that comprise Jazz-iz Christ, a mostly instrumental effort except for 4 tracks, are an amalgam of progressive jazz, electronic, ethnic and even rock elements, displaying a unique presentation of the genre itself.
Both albums will be available worldwide on iTunes, Amazon and other popular digital distributors and will be available for sale in various limited deluxe physical formats through Tankian's official website and the website for Serjical Strike Records. Pre-orders for the deluxe limited editions of Orca, which includes a 180 gram picture disc, merchandise, and a signed version of the actual score, will begin on May 1, while pre-orders for Jazz-iz Christ will commence on May 15. Audio samples from both releases are available for preview on Serj's official website.
Upon completion of System of a Down's summer touring in August, Tankian will hang back in Europe until the commencement of his own solo orchestral tour dates that begin on September 19 in Kiev, Ukraine. The concert program will include all four acts of Orca, but will also incorporate performances of many songs from Elect The Dead Symphony, which achieved critical and commercial success upon it's initial release and tour in 2010.

Legendary Seattle rockers QUEENSRYCHE are poised to regain their place as hard rock/heavy metal royalty in 2013. The band has just signed a new label deal with Century Media for the release of their latest studio album. The album is slated for release on June 11 and marks the debut album from the lineup comprised of Todd La Torre (Vocals), Michael Wilton (Guitars), Parker Lundgren (Guitars), Eddie Jackson (Bass) and Scott Rockenfield (Drums). The band premiered a snippet from a new song called "Redemption" from the upcoming release on Eddie Trunk's radio show on February 22. The 90-second snippet can be viewed at: http://youtu.be/P8iaNZBUK9c. QUEENSRYCHE join Century Media's diverse roster comprised of some of music's most recognizable talent, including IN FLAMES, IN THIS MOMENT, LACUNA COIL and ARCH ENEMY to name a few.
"QUEENSRYCHE is excited to begin writing this next chapter of our career with Century Media. Their passion and love for music has been apparent since early discussions and we are pleased to call them partners on this journey," states bassist Eddie Jackson. "We are also thankful for all of the fans who have supported us from day one and helped us get to where we are today. Todd, Scott, Parker, Michael and I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for each and every one of you."
QUEENSRYCHE will also be heading out on their "Return To History World Tour" this March and April. The tour kicks off on March 5th in Dubuque, IA and makes stops in 9 different countries wrapping up on April 26th in the Netherlands. The band will also be taking to the high seas on this year's "Monsters Of Rock Cruise" and "Sweden Rock Cruise." The 23 date trek will make stops in New York, Tennessee and Florida as well as in Canada, United Kingdom and Germany amongst others. Tickets for all shows are currently on sale.
QUEENSRYCHE first burst onto the music scene in 1982 with the release of their self-titled 4 song EP Queensrÿche. They very quickly gained international recognition and performed to sold-out audiences around the world. With the follow up first full-length album The Warning in 1984, and the ground breaking 1986 release of Rage For Order, QUEENSRYCHE continued to prove their worldwide dominance as one of the most respected and creative bands of the 80's. In 1988 the band turned out yet another monumental album Operation: Mindcrime, which would go on to become one of the TOP 10 best selling concepts records of all time, and set the stage for continued sold out performances around the world. With the release of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Empire in 1991, the band earned multiple Grammy Award nominations and won the MTV "viewers choice" award for the #1 chart topping hit "Silent Lucidity". During the next ten years, the band continued to release albums and tour the world to sold-out audiences. Leading up to SPOCK'S BEARD's highly-anticipated eleventh studio album, 'BRIEF NOCTURNES AND DREAMLESS SLEEP,' the prog-rock legends have teamed up with the UK's PROG Magazine to premiere the track "Something Very Strange" from the album. 'BRIEF NOCTURNES AND DREAMLESS SLEEP' will be released on April 2, 2013 in North America via InsideOut Music. The new track can be heard here:http://www.progrockmag.com/news/spocks-beard-premiere-something-very-strange/
Guitarist Alan Morse says this about the track: "The album version 'Something Very Strange' has an awesome intro that's going to make it a great live opener - big, spacey, lots of guitar feedback and an otherworldly vocoder bit. Then the Hammond organ kicks in and we're off to the races! It's got a great groove, a crazy bass part and enough B3 noodling to satisfy even the most hardcore Leslie fanatic. The chorus is massive, especially when Ted kicks it up an octave on the second chorus. Then we go off into Progland in the middle 7/8 section, with Ryo and me trading off wailing solos. Then a huge build into the last chorus, and we go out with a bang! In addition to that it has a real trippy sci-fi lyric about aliens appearing in the sky, and the people on the ground looking up to face what's coming - which is, apparently, very strange! ; ) The people come together in the face of the incoming threat and make their peace with each other. Hopefully it won't take that to get us to come together."
SPOCK'S BEARD's new studio album marks the recording debut oflong-time drummer Jimmy Keegan, and vocalist / guitarist Ted Leonard (Enchant, Thought Chamber). It also sees the return of one familiar name to the song-writing credits, that of Neal Morse who has co-written two tracks after having left the band in 2002.
