The Safety Fire
The Safety Fire Reveals The Vest Choir In Fin....
London progressive metallers THE SAFETY FIRE have been hard at work on their forthcoming second album and have been documenting the process through their fantastic studio diaries. The fourth and final studio diary has now been released, and it shows the band enlisting the help of what has been dubbed the "Vest Choir". Check out the video here:

Guitarist and producer Derya "Dez" Nagle comments about this uniquely dressed choir: "Nothing says community like a bunch of dudes hanging out in vests. If said dudes all decide to sing and shout in unison all the better. I would argue that church choirs would be much more popular if they encouraged members to wear vests. Vests are the future."

You can check out the rest of the studio diaries below:

The band's currently untitled new release is being produced again by the band's own Derya "Dez" Nagle (guitar), who previously worked with Frank Turner (MONGOL HORDE), RISE TO REMAIN, and THE HAARP MACHINE.

To purchase THE SAFETY FIRE's debut, Grind The Ocean, please head over to CM Distro or iTunes. If you still haven't heard the album, click here to watch the video for the album track "DMB (FDP)."

August Burns Red
August Burns Red Unveil First New Track From ....
Only days after letting the world in on the title, cover art and June 25th release date for their fifth full-length album, Rescue & Restore, AUGUST BURNS RED are unveiling preorder options for the album and pulling the covers off a lyric video for “Fault Line,” the first track to be revealed from the upcoming release.

Preorder Rescue & Restore and listen to “Fault Line” here: http://smarturl.it/augustburnsred

“Fault Line” is a scorching track that sounds every bit like a trademark AUGUST BURNS RED song, while simultaneously giving hints of the expanded sound that characterizes the new album.

"’Fault Line’ is a staple sounding ABR song,” explains guitarist and principal songwriter JB Brubaker. “It’s a good place to start when whetting people’s appetites for Rescue & Restore."

Rescue & Restore is available to fans in a number of preorder packages from a standalone CD package to album/tshirt bundles. The album is available on limited edition vinyl in a number of colors as well as in an exclusive vinyl boxset.

Described by Brubaker as the band’s “most ambitious album yet,” Rescue & Restore turns a critical eye to the oft-maligned genre of metalcore, leading by example to prove that bands can still find exciting new ways to expand the genre.

Throughout the album, AUGUST BURNS RED continue to do their part to challenge the conventions of heavy music. Over the course of 11 tracks, the band artfully blend piano, cello, violin, trumpet, various percussive elements and more into their sonic arsenal, taking their music into new aesthetic territory and contorting the boundaries of the genre.

“Rescue & Restore is about challenging other bands and ourselves, as well as fans of this music, to want more than whatever happens to be the current buzz,” explains Brubaker. “We’ve done our best with each new album to try to push our sound in new directions and we’d like to see our peers do the same. People need to realize that there’s not much of a difference between a metalcore song that has a couple breakdowns with a repeating chorus and the latest Lady Gaga song. This genre used to be better than that. It can still be better than that.”

Five Finger Death Punch
Five Finger Death Punch To Release "Lift Me U....
Five Finger Death Punch has announced the band will release the lead single from their forthcoming 2 new studio albums this Tuesday, May 14 via all digital retailers. The track, "Lift Me Up" (featuring Rob Halford of Judas Priest), which debuted with a performance of the band joined by iconic guest artist Halford live at Revolver Magazine's Golden Gods Awards Show, will hit the air on radio stations across the globe today. Singer Ivan Moody shares, "First and foremost, just to work alongside an icon like Rob Halford, THE Metal God, was absolutely surreal. The song itself was originally written about overcoming everyday obstacles and less than perfect situations. Most of us weren't born with a silver spoon in our mouth but if life dealt you all the wrong cards, you still have to play. The song's intent is to inspire; if you play that hand right you might just come out on top anyway"

"Lift Me Up" (featuring Rob Halford of Judas Priest) will be available online starting May 14

Five Finger Death Punch will release The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell Volume 1 on July 23, while Volume 2 is scheduled for later this fall. Eleven Seven will release the albums outside of North America.Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory recently shared, "We came off the road after a couple of great years of touring and were really amped up to write the 4th record. Everybody was in the right headspace and the band tighter than ever soit was a perfect storm. We jumped in head first and found ourselves 12-13 songs deep fairly quick but were still coming up with better and better material so we looked at each other and said…. ok why stop there? Let's keep going. Once we passed the 24th song we knew we're going to have to do two albums. We had this massive amount of music that's very dear to us, possibly the bestmaterial this band has ever created. At that pointthere was no way to decide which songs to leave off one album. So we made thedecisionto release them all."

In June, Five Finger Death Punch will return to Europe for a tour of major festivals including Sweden Rock (6/06), Germany's Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park (6/08 and 6/09) and the U.K.'s Download Festival at Donington Park (6/16) (full schedule below) concluding the run with a performance at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Ceremony in London.

Tarja Turunen
New Album From Tarja Turunen
Despite her light and shiny personality, Tarja’s music has always been dressed “in black” – the colour of heavy rock, of mystery and elegance.

With Tarja’s new album, fans will find out what happens when a splice of colour is added to the mix. Or – better said – when the full colour spectrum enters the picture it does not cover the black but makes it shine through with many emotions and landscapes.

Following up on the success of the multi-platinum and gold awarded previous records “My Winterstorm” (2007) and “What Lies Beneath” (2010), Tarja finally returns with her long-awaited new rock album. “Colours In The Dark” will be released on August 23rd, 2013 via earMUSIC, the label which also released the top 5 live project “Act 1”.

Mixed and mastered by Tim Palmer in Austin, Texas (Pearl Jam, U2), the songs on “Colours In The Dark” do not shy away from taking a risk and surprising musical turns, introducing new sounds and new musical atmospheres. Still, they maintain a heaviness that will surely bring a big smile to the hardest of rockers.

With its grand orchestra and choir arrangements, Tarja’s next milestone emphasises once again the impressive vocal range of the Finnish artist and shows her artistic growth.

With ten brand new songs and over one hour of music, “Colours In The Dark” is definitely going to be one of the brightest moments for rock in 2013.

Fans should make sure to check the regularly updated website www.tarja-coloursinthedark.com on which Tarja personally posts blog-entries about the recording process of the new album, revealing song titles and lyrics and keeps in touch with her fans.

Tarja will perform the songs from “Colours In The Dark Tour 2013” starting with her forthcoming tour in Germany.
