Delta Rae
Delta Rae's "Bottom Of The River" Feature....

Delta Rae are on fire. Good things keep happening for the relentlessly hard working six piece rock band from Durham, NC. Their debut album, Carry The Fire, came out last summer (iTunes

link) and ever since, they've taken the live show on the road, making new fans at every turn.

The big news is that Delta Rae's single for "Bottom Of The River" is featured in the trailer for Season 6 of HBO's hit show True Blood. A match made in vampire heaven! "We've been immense fans of True Blood since the pilot" explains Delta Rae singer Brittany Holljes. "The show captures southern myth and the magic of American folklore -- the same mysterious storytelling that inspires so much of our music. To go from dressing up like the whole cast (Yes, I was Sookie) for Halloween three years ago, to hearing our song on the trailer is utterly MIND BLOWING."

It's been an amazing year for Delta Rae. They've been seriously championed by VH1, who selected them as their "You Oughta Know" Artist Of The Month last October and had the video for "Bottom Of The River" for the better part of a year. They've performed, not once, but twice on The Tonight Show w/Jay Leno in the last year, an unheard of accomplishment for a new band. They've also performed on Conan, been featured on NPR's "All Things Considered" and were picked for the Forbes 30 Under 30 issue amongst names like Lady Gaga and Drake. Delta Rae were also hand selected by Rolling Stone as an "Artist To Watch" for their Women Who Rock campaign. RS flatteringly compared Delta Rae to their favorite band of all time, claiming "If Fleetwood Mac came up in North Carolina, they might resemble Delta Rae." Speaking of Fleetwood Mac, Delta Rae's latest single for "If I Loved You" actually features Lindsey Buckingham on guitar; an absolute dream come true for the band.

Live is where Delta Rae truly flourish. The band has been selling out headlining gigs across the country, from their hometown of Durham, NC to NYC, San Francisco and Los Angeles. They've opened for everyone from heroes like Lyle Lovett to First Lady Michelle Obama during a Democratic rally at UNC Chapel Hill. They're booked to perform all across the festival circuit this summer, including stops at Hangout Festival, Bonnaroo, Firefly, Bumbershoot and Austin City Limits. The band tours relentlessly and will be traversing across the country for the foreseeable future. Do yourself a favor and check out a show. The band will be touring North America through summer. For a full list of confirmed dates, see below.

Delta Rae recently stopped by Staten Island school PS22 to sing "Bottom of The River,""If I Loved You," "Dance In The Graveyards," and "Fire" with the famed collaborative chorus.

Delta Rae
Delta Rae Collaborate With Lindsey Buckingham....

Delta Rae recently had the opportunity to collaborate with one of their heroes. They teamed up with Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac, their all-time favorite band, who played guitar on the re-recorded version of their new single, "If I Loved You." Pretty sweet.

The band released the new video for "If I Loved You" yesterday exclusively on RollingStone.com, which Lindsey wasn't in, but still deserves to be watched regardless.

"This video captures what I love most about the song" says Delta Rae singer Elizabeth Hopkins, who takes center stage on this song. "It's simple and raw. Telling someone point blank that you don't love them is difficult and painful. I've done it. It feels horrible, but there is also a release that comes along with it, a lifting of a weight. I think this video lets you focus on the rawness of that message."

"I can't really accurately express how wild it was for us to learn that Lindsey Buckingham had played on If I Loved You." explains Delta Rae singer/song-writer/guitar player Ian Holljes. "I grew up on stories of how my parents (along with every other kid on campus) would blast the entirety of Rumours out of their college dorm room windows. Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey Buckingham's writing have been so influential to us and so to have his talents and incredibly distinctive guitar playing laid over one of our tracks felt like the world sort of folding over on itself. Ultimately, it was rewarding on two huge levels -- the thrill of having one of your heroes play on your song and the actual impact of his beautiful guitar work enhancing the song so meaningfully. "

It's been a wild year for six piece rock band Delta Rae since the release of their debut album, Carry The Fire, this past June. The band performed their single "Bottom Of The River" on The Tonight Show w/Jay Leno the night of the release. The show liked them so much, they invited them back for round two to perform "Fire." In between Leno trips, the band performed on Conan, were featured on NPR's "All Things Considered" and hand selected by Rolling Stone as an "Artist To Watch" for their Women Who Rock campaign. They've been championed by VH1, who selected them as their "You Oughta Know" Artist of The Month for October, USA Today, who premiered their video for "Dance In The Graveyards," KCRW, Billboard, Forbes and ELLE among many others.

Delta Rae
Delta Rae Opens For Michelle Obama At Unc Cha....

Durham, NC based Delta Rae opened for First Lady Michelle Obama earlier this week at Carmichael Arena at UNC Chapel Hill. The band's performance preceded The First Lady taking the podium to encourage college students and other supporters to vote, as early voting began in North Carolina yesterday. "There are currently so many issues being discussed and decisions being made in Washington that are going to drastically affect our generation" says Eric Hölljes of Delta Rae. "I truly hope, as young people, we stand up in this election and let our collective voice be heard."

Delta Rae has been very involved with the Obama campaign in their home state of North Carolina. They were invited to perform at the DNC in Charlotte alongside James Taylor, only to have the show washed out at the last minute due to a venue change due to rain.

Several years ago, California voters passed Prop 8, which effectively banned gay marriage in the state. In response, Delta Rae's Ian Hölljes wrote the song "Chain on Love," protesting what he believed Prop 8 to be -- a severely unjust law that directly discriminated against the LGBT community and, by doing so, infringed on the rights of all Americans. In May, North Carolina voters faced a similar choice with Amendment One. Delta Rae fervently supports marriage equality and, more generally, the equal rights of the entire LGBT community.

Delta Rae were recently profiled on NPR's All Things Considered. NPR describes the Durham, NC six-piece band's sound as "modern folklore." The band themselves, which includes three siblings: Ian, Eric and Brittany Holljes, tell VH1 that if one must categorize their music, they usually call it Americana. "It captures so much of American music across all boundaries and time." VH1 selected Delta Rae as their "You Oughta Know" Artist Of The Month for October and has moved their video for their single, "Bottom Of The River," into heavy rotation.

If you've never heard of Delta Rae and need a good introduction, check out this rendition they did of Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" for Billboard. Goosebumps. Delta Rae recently performed "Bottom Of The River" on Conan and have been touring relentlessly all year in support of their debut album, Carry The Fire, which came out on June 19th (iTunes). A full list of dates is below, please let us know if you are interested in checking out a show.

Delta Rae Selected To Perform At The Democrat....
Delta Rae are proud to announce that they've been selected to perform at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday, September 6th. Calling it a "tribute to the dynamic convention host state," the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) announced that the band will join the lineup of fellow North Carolina artist, James Taylor for festivities that will precede President Obama's nomination acceptance speech at the Bank of America Stadium.

"Highlighting such amazing talent from North Carolina as part of the entertainment at the convention's closing event is just one way that convention organizers are working to bring the flavor of North Carolina to all Americans," said DNCC CEO, Steve Kerrigan. "Whether you're one of the tens of thousands who received community credentials to attend this historic event in person, or tuning in remotely, you will have a taste of the wonderful region that is home to this year's convention."

"Watching Barack Obama win election to the presidency in 2008 was one of the most exciting and affirming moments of my life as an American. I am so thrilled to think what he can accomplish in a second term and I couldn't be more proud or humbled that Delta Rae's music will be a part of ushering in that great hope" remarks Delta Rae's Ian Hölljes. "We seem to be at a tipping point for so many important movements" continues Hölljes. "Marriage equality, women's rights, and the protection of the middle class, among them -- and I believe President Obama's continued leadership is essential to landing on the right side of history on these issues."

Ian's brother and fellow Delta Rae band member Eric Hölljes adds, "there are currently so many issues being discussed and decisions being made in Washington that are going to drastically affect me and my generation. I truly hope, as young people, we stand up in this election and let our collective voice be heard."
