Ari Hest
Ari Hest
We at Melodic.net always support the most gifted and talentful melodic singer/songwriters in todays overwhelming world, whenever it is in AOR, West Coast, FM Rock or Pop/Rock, whatever you wanna calll it. Throughout the years there´s been so many, some vanished from the face of the globe, some really made their trademark and even some stood the test of time. But somehow there´s always room left for new or surpringly new names that i wasn´t beware of. Let´s take this Ari Hest guy, another brilliant songwriter with 6 (!) albums on his haystack before this fantastic "Break-In" release this year. I honestly gave up on him after i couldn´t track down his website but funny enough thanks to the Donnie Iris site i got hold of the friendly Ari who was kind enough to respond to the following questions .....

H.E.A.T
H.E.A.T
In a time not long ago great musicians crafted great music out of nothing. Today the guys in H.E.A.T follow their footsteps, having one foot in the past and the other one in the future. H.e.a.t was born in January of 2007 when two different bands with the same singer merged. The vision was to create something unique that would move people and help them understand what it’s all about. About havin fun and live your dreams and to always make the present a past that you can be proud of in the future to come.H.e.a.t always do their very best as a live act to entertain the audience, taking them on a journey through time and space that will leave no one untouched. Share our vision, Feel the Heat.

Heartplay
Heartplay
HEARTPLAY was founded by Sakari Salli and Kimmo Blom (Urban Tale) in 1997 and it took four years to produce the first album, cleverly titled ?The Album?. HEARTPLAY achieved success in Finland when many radio stations have played the song ?I?ll be your shelter?. The new album ?Where The Deadends Meet? can be described more as Westcoast rather than a hard rock album. Strong songs featuring the incredible vocal performance of Kimmo Blom and the extraordinary guitar ability make this album a highlight.

Hugo
Hugo
If you have sang on the classic Valentine album, the mammuth strong Open Skyz record and was one of the strong contenders of replacing Steve Perry in Journey, you could say that person is AOR in it?s true meaning.....and that is what HUGO stands for with 2 solo albums made and the third coming up titled ?Fire in the night?,pure and fluffy AOR! An interview section on melodic.net without Hugo wouldn?t feel right so here he is,the one and only...........

Human Fortress
Human Fortress
I listen to a lot of AOR,Progressive rock, modern rock, numetal, powerpop and hard rock but once in a while it?s quite refreshing to put on a classic metal album, especially if it sounds like Human Fortress......they have found a personal sound with their celtic influenced metal,a band more should check out!

Human Temple
Human Temple
The hard rock and metal boom of the eighties left a lasting impression on millions of teenagers. Among them, two young guys in Turku, Finland got an extremely bad case of hard rock poisoning. In 1986 it got really bad, and they decided to form their first band. Those guys were vocalist Janne Hurme and drummer Petri Lehto, and that band, whatever it was called, lead them to a road of no return...and ultimately to HUMAN TEMPLE. In March 2004 the band signed a deal with MTM, one of the leading hard rock labels in Europe. The label will release the album "Insomnia" in summer, 2004, and its a must for everyone into melodic hard rock, AOR or even melodic, 80ies styled metal.

Did you know that?

Fightstar formed in late 2003 after Alex Westaway and Charlie Simpson, former Busted frontman, met at a party in Simpson´s London home. Following an impromptu jam session, Westaway and Simpson decided to form a band. After a few songs had been written, the band recruited bassist Dan Haigh, a school friend of guitarist Alex Westaway and drummer Omar Abidi.
