Poison’s Bret Michaels is addressing the ongoing beef between his group and Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, and in doing so, seems to be extending an olive branch. Michaels told TheTourBus.com that when he learned Elliott said Poison had no talent, he was hurt. The rocker explained, “I’m a Def Leppard fan. Not ‘kind of a fan’ — like, I own the CDs; I own the albums. We used to do the song ‘Wasted,’ if that gives you any indication. I’m a Def Leppard fan. Old-school, new-school — it doesn’t matter. Gone to see their shows, liked the guys.” Bret went on to say that when he was told of Elliott’s comments, he didn’t believe one of his favorite singers would say that about him. Once it hit him, Bret admitted to getting upset and making some comments, but confessed he doesn’t want to fight Joe. He said, “What bummed me out was that one of the guys I like is dissing every band.” Michaels added that he thinks both his words and Joe’s were taken out of context and wants music fans to know that he is not in a fight with Def Leppard, noting, “I like their music. I like Joe Elliott. This has gotten so beyond anything. I don’t want to fight with them.” Poison are playing in Holmdel, New Jersey tonight.
