With the blooming of flowers brings the deflowering of The Artist Life. With a very successful 2008 and a promising 2009 on the horizon, The Artist Life are set to embark on their very first full Western Canadian tour. "Let's Start a Riot", the bands second release and first for Canadian indie power house, Underground Operations, has been obtaining wide spread media acclaim as the band to be on watch for. Edge 102.1 nominated the band for "Song of the Year" at 2009's FU! Awards, Japan's Boundee picked up the release for Japanese distro, and "Let's Start a Riot" has been supported by George Stromboulopoulos (the Strombo Show/The Hour), Allan Cross (Explore Music), MTV (Live performance), myspace (exclusive streams), AP (unsigned band of the month) and so much more, all on this five tracks release. In the weeks leading up to the tour, The Artist Life will be premiering their first video from "LSAR" for the track Sleep So Sound (myspace exclusive stream starting April 10th), performing at a Warchild benefit show ("Musical Mutiny") with Edge 102's Martin Streek, and a live performance at the flagship Sunrise Records store as part of "Independent Record Store Day."
