A Big Steve Vai Box On The Way

Guitar mastermind STEVE VAI reaches into his musical bag of tricks again on September 23, 2003 to deliver another slice of history in Mystery Tracks Archives Vol. 3, the second individual release from his limited edition box set on Favored Nations.
Available only online through Vai.com, the 10-CD "Secret Jewel Box Set" is a collection of rarities, bonus tracks and film soundtrack pieces. The Elusive Light And Sound Vol. 1, a culmination of music composed for film, was released through Favored Nations in June of 2002. Archives Vol. 2 - Original Recordings of Frank Zappa, is only available through the site as a part of the full package.
The Box ships with three discs inside [The Elusive Light and Sound Vol. 1; Alcatrazz Disturbing the Peace, and Archives Vol. 2 - Original Recordings of Frank Zappa,] and the remaining 7 CDs will be released and sold separately over the next couple of years. Only 10,000 boxes will be made and all 10 of the CDs will fit into it, spelling out a secret phrase on the CD spines.
Mystery Tracks Archives Vol. 3 is a compilation of bonus Vai tracks featured on Japanese releases of his albums, contributions to other artists? works and unreleased/demo tracks. It's sort of like a golden scrap pile. Devour with a silver spoon,? Vai elaborates in the liner notes. The accompanying CD booklet also features Vai commentary on each track.
Learn more on the creation of Mystery Tracks Archives Vol. 3 on the Vai one-on-one interview sheet, available upon request. More info on the 'Secret Jewel Box Set' can be found in on vai.com.
Steve Vai releases Mystery Tracks Archives Vol. 3 on September 23, 2003 through his own Favored Nations label.

Did you know that?

A friend once said "What a Motley looking Crew" - Motley meaning "of great variety" and once describing the appearance of a court jester. The re-spelling of Motley Crue was their own invention; and said to have came to them while they were partying & drinking Lowenbrau beer.
