Steve Perry will be interviewed about the Giants Friday October 7th, at 8:00am pacific on KNBR sports radio, you can listen online...And oh yea, Hi Kip! How's Memphis? You guys still cranking out the jam there?

Steve Perry recently handed over his multitrack tapes or Pro Tools stems to the new AOR god Kevin Shirley to mix. Whatever this means, maybe Steve needs help in making his music sound relevent. Whatever the case I hope that Journey makes it way back to Soundstage at WTTW in Boston where they first began. www.pbs.org/wttw/soundstage

Sorry last comment to read as I have loved 'the voice'

It's July 2010 now and still no new cd from Steve Perry. I so want this news to be true as I have 'the voice for so many years and I want to hear him again asap.

JOURNEYFANDAN
I to live in Fresno,Ca and there is a buzz about Steve's new album coming out soon. I read that Disney wants Perry,Schon,Cain,Valory and Smith to write and play 3 new songs for the new Tron movie. We might hear some new Journey music with Perry on lead(not Arnel). I received a private message from Neal and all he would tell me is that he is in Southern California writing music with a old freind. Read into what you want, but stranger thing have happened. Just like when Perry came out with FLOSM album, then Journey reformed and they put out Trail by Fire the next year. Think about it for a minute. Van Halen toured with Roth and made over a 125 million on that tour. If Perry was to return and tour it would be the biggest money maker of all time in music history. We all have been waiting for Perry to take the lead sence 1987-88( performing live). You don't think they have thought about how much money they would make and a couple Grammy nod's if Perry returns into the fold. Roth can't hold Perry's mic, but he made a ton of money and Van Halen is coming out with a new album with Roth and maybe Anthony on bass. Journey needs Perry and Smith, so they can get out of playing in state fairs and return to mega stadiums. Tell Arnel(sound alike) thank you and best of luck on your career and give us true fans what we really want. The real Journey not some kind of knock off band. They are the greatest band ever when Perry is hitting those sweet notes and they are writing new songs for us. God bless Journey and America.

Feeling more hopeful for a new album again. It's true that Randy Goodrum, on his website randygoodrum.com, says that he is working on new material for Steve' s next project and says 'more on that later'. He co-wrote 'Oh Sherrie', and 'She's Mine' with Steve. So maybe, just maybe, he really IS serious about the new album if he is writing with a former successful partner. This man is prodigious and has hundreds of hits. Maybe he'll motivate Steve to speed up this interminable timetable a little! All I know is that I just got out of the hospital, and the biggest therapy I've had is once again listening to Perry's music. The best medicine there is (and it isn't For the Love of Strange Medicine, either!)

I DO BELIEVE IT IS ABOUT TIME STEVE PERRY RETURNS TO THE MUSIC SCENE. STEVE'S FANS HAVE BEEN DEVOTED TO STEVE ALL THESE YEARS AND RESPECT HIS DECISION EITHER WAY BUT HOPEFULLY HE WILL RETURN AGAIN TO FILL THAT MUSICAL VOID HE HAS LEFT. NO VOCALIST WILL EVER MATCH THE CHEMISTRY HE PRODUCES WHEN HE SINGS TO HIS AUDIENCE. ALWAYS, WIZARD "I am-THE SOUNDMAN" FRESNO, CALIFORNIA

I have heard this way too many times over the years! I am as addicted to Steve Perry as the next person but I will not believe anything until I see the CD in the stores! What happened to the January 2010 release? When I see it with my own 2 eyes is the only time I will believe this! Thanks ;0)

Steve did do 3 radio interviews from the UK and he said he has written new music over the past couple years and some of the songs he is very proud of. He also said that he will be recording some of these songs soon. When asked by the DJ if he would ever come to scotland steve replyed I would love to go there and perform. Hi AJ, Im hoping the same as you, and since that news up on here now and still no denial from Perry I am hoping there may be alot of truth to it. I heard with my own ears his voice saying he will be recording his new songs and he does have the itch again!!!

What is going on? I am still waiting. It is so frustrating

gluchnurse
Well, Steve' s Birthday message didn't mention anything-so the wait, excruciating as it is, goes on for some confirmation, or even an official denial. Would be easier to wait if there was something, anything from an official source. His album isn't listed on any sites release dates list, and no one-not Billboard, Rolling Stone, Variety-no one is even hinting at an album. Getting so discouraged!!

All I can say is Perry had to get wind of this information that was put up and like the hoax Hawaii tour he came out and said it was not true. Nobody not even mr Perry came out and said anything about this being a hoax. I dont think he would let his fans suffer like this if there were no truth to it. Time will tell and hopefully some or all of it has some truth behind it. His birthday is in 6 days so maybe that is when he will lay all this to rest in it being true or fiction!!!Like AJ said there is confirmation of him working on a new album through reliable sources. My fingers are crossed!!!

30 year perry fan
Although we aren't 100% sure if he is coming out with another album, lets not give up hope. As a fan, I can say that he will always be "THE VOICE", and is known far beyond Don't stop believin'. Just take a listen to Melody, or You better wait. These are great songs. One more thing, to respond to -looksthatkill- Where in the name of Perry did you get your info? The only way I am going to believe that the news of a new album is false is straight from Steve Perry himself. As always, like they say, PERRY ON!!!!!

gluchnurse
WHat is so cruel about this is Perry's own interview in July, 2009 where he said he was recording new music, and hoped that he would be remembered for some new things, not just 'Don't Stop Believin'. So many rumors, and then that interview, yet no hard, confirmed news about a release! Is driving his fans nuts! Hope he does a Fan Asylum B-Day message as he often does in January and says something, anything so we can be put of out of our misery one way or the other-either a confirmed release, or the fact that it isn't happening

Unfortunately, the statement above about Steve Perry and a deal with Sony has since been removed from the Wikepedia site. Furthermore, when it was displayed on the Wikepedia site, it was not dated, nor did it reference any citations. So no one's really sure if this was yet another cruel hoax (since anyone can put anything on Wikepedia) or if this was a true (but unofficial) leak. As a TRUE and LOYAL fan of Steve Perry's, I'm sincerely hoping it's the latter, and am eagerly awaiting his return in 2010! (Of course, there are several other "credible" sources that have already stated that Steve is working on a new album scheduled to be released sometime in 2010!)

looksthatkill
This news is false

Did you know that?

rumours has it that Steve Perry wanted to sing in Wild Horses, the band featuring Brian Robertson and Jimmy Bain but they wanted to handle the lead vocals themselves.
