Sleeping At Last "May" EP Avail. Now

Sleeping At Last have release a brand-new "Yearbook" EP! The band very proud to present you with "May," which is available NOW! Here are some details:

"MAY" SONGS:

1. Pacific Blues
2. Segue
3. Silhouettes
This EP may be the most eclectic Yearbook EP yet... We had so much fun trying out all sorts of new sounds and ideas - sincerely hope you enjoy the results!

"Pacific Blues" was written and recorded entirely with GForce Software's gorgeous M-Tron Pro Mellotron sound library. in fact, it was recorded entirely with a brand-new M-Tron Pro expansion pack that is yet to be released! (More info to come!) We had the privilege of getting an advance version, so we went to town with it. Had so much fun creating with these sounds. To learn more about GForce's incredible music software, click here. Very few companies on earth have the passion for what their work, as GForce does!

"Segue" is an instrumental piece which features a plethora of sounds. (That's right, I said a "plethora") Had so much fun on this one. Lots of rhythm! Hope you enjoy this little tangent from the usual SAL sound.

"Silhouettes" is a simple, somber and lyric-focused song. Ukulele, Bass, Bells and featuring lots of gorgeously played Clarinet (see below!)

"MAY" SPECIAL GUESTS:

PAUL VON MERTENS (Played Clarinet on "Silhouettes") : Paul is an incredibly gifted individual. He is a touring and recording member of legend, Brian Wilson's (The Beach Boys) band. He has also performed and/or toured with: Wilco, Paul McCartney, Sea & Cake and many more. In '09 we had the privilege of meeting/working with Paul for the first time, while recording our "Storyboards" record. Paul was our one-man woodwind section for our song "Clockwork," which featured a Van Dyke Parks arrangement. When"Silhouettes" was written, it felt like the perfect song for the Clarinet, so Paul's name was of course the first to pop up, as he is truly a remarkable musician. His Clarinet contribution to this song is simply beautiful and we're just so excited for you to hear it! HUGE thanks to Paul for his gorgeous fingerprint on "Yearbook"! Looking forward to making more music together soon.

CHRIS BETHEA (Mixed all of "May") : Chris is an extraordinarily talented mixing engineer from Alabama. Not too long ago, he mixed our song "101010" from the "November" EP and did a fantastic job, so we were of course anxious to work with him again. This time, Chris lent his mixing talent and mixed the entire "May" EP. Not only did he do a remarkable job here, but he completed these mixes during (literally during) the massively destructive, tornado-spawning storms that pummeled Alabama and other parts of the US earlier this week. Thankfully Chris and his family are okay, but our hearts go out to those who were directly effected to these horrible storms. An enormous thank you to Chris for his incredible work under such unfortunate and challenging circumstances! Visit Chris on the Web, here.
