Porcupine Tree Releases "In Absentia" In 5.1 Surround Sound With Bonus Tracks

Scheduled for release on February 17th is a 5.1 surround sound mix of Porcupine Trees most recent album "In Absentia". The multi channel mix should play on any system set up for DTS surround sound, including any DVD players equipped with a DTS decoder. Mixed by five time grammy award winning producer/engineer and surround sound specialist Elliot Scheiner (whose other surround sound mix credits include Steely Dan, Queen, Beck, REM and the recent Flaming Lips album), this new mix reveals the depth and sonic invention in PTs music like never before. The disc will also feature the original stereo mix in higher 24 bit resolution, plus a wealth of bonus material in the shape of videos, photos and bonus tracks.

Also due early in 2004 is the second release on PTs own Transmission label, "Warszawa", recorded live in Poland in 2001. This CD will be available exclusively from the bands on line store.

Did you know that?

Counting Crows comes from old English nursery rhyme which had to do with predicting the future from the numbers of birds seen. Lead Singer Adam Duritz liked the rhyme.
