"The latest release from Matthew Perryman Jones is nothing short of a stunning achievement".  Read the entire review at Stereo Subversion.

Charlie Peacock (producer, The Civil Wars) has this comment about the new CD: "Matthew Perryman Jones' new full length, The Land of the Living has had a very strong effect on me.  I actually got chills and shed a tear or two listening to it.  Just when you think you might be getting a little jaded, music like this comes along and saves you from a hardened heart and makes you feel human again.  Thank you MPJ.  This is why we make music."

MPJ's latest album, Land of the Living was produced by Cason Cooley,  recorded in Round Top, Texas and funded by online donations from Jones’ loyal fan base. Although you may not instantly recognize his name, you will undoubtedly know his voice, as MPJ’s songs have been featured in numerous television shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, and One Tree Hill, including recent feature film, What to Expect When You're Expecting.

Land of the Living is available on iTunes or on Matthew Perryman Jones' website, www.mpjmusic.com

Did you know that?

Pink Floyd´s "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" is dedicated to the band´s former leader Syd Barret. Syd used to be the leader...until his schizophrenia and the LSD started to catch up with him, and he became rather insane. The band called David Gilmour, who had given Syd guitar lessons during high shool, and would cover for Syd during concerts, correcting his mistakes and filling in when he started playing along to a different tune. Syd eventually got more and more distanced of the band and David got to be the lead guitarist, but lots of the insanity themes they sing about is related to their former bandmate.
