Mondo Cozmo Shares New Track "Higher" and Video Featuring Paz de la Huerta
Mondo Cozmo has just released a new track, “Higher” and accompanying music video featuring the skilled artist, designer, writer, and actor, Paz de la Huerta (Enter The Void, A Walk to Remember). Watch the video for “Higher” HERE:
“(On “Higher”) There’s a bit of LCD Soundsystem in the song’s dance-punk structure, but it’s spliced with a brightness as if Damon Albarn was actually Beck in disguise.” – Consequence of Sound
The song comes as Mondo Cozmo’s debut single, “Shine,” has been striking an emotional chord with people across America, and beyond. In these times of change, fans have been finding solace in the hopeful chorus that “everything will be alright if you let it go,” leading to the track rocketing up the AAA chart into the Top 5. As of this week, “Shine” was also the #2 most added song on the Alterative chart including early support from KROQ, Sirius XM’s Alt Nation, and Live 105. Mondo’s previous track, “Hold On To Me” was also included in NPR’s Best Music of 2016 year end list.
After receiving rave reviews from recent sold out shows in Los Angeles at the Hotel Café and Bardot (watch a live performance video from the show HERE), and the first official performance at EW’s PopFest, Mondo Cozmo has announced a handful of new dates including first ever shows in New York & Philadelphia in January and February of 2017 as well as a couple of festival dates later in the year. Mondo’s East Coast dates kick off at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn on January 30th, followed by Mercury Lounge in Manhattan on January 31st, then on to Boot and Saddle in Philadelphia on February 1st (Mondo will be performing with the backing band, Illinois for all three dates). Mondo Cozmo has also announced the first two festival dates of 2017, Hangout Festival in May and Forecastle Festival in July. More info and ticket links below.

Recently, Mondo Cozmo has been turning heads with an inspiring performance at EW's PopFest where he was backed by the USC Marching Band performing the podcast’s theme song (which he wrote) prior to the live taping of Anna Faris is Unqualified where Seth Rogan was the featured guest (see Rogan’s reaction to Mondo in this clip, full performance and interview here via EW). Anna also guest stars in Mondo’s video for the song “Hold On To Me,” check out the full video here.
Last month at the first official LA show for acclaimed weekly showcase, It's A School Night, Dan Wilson (who's written songs for Adele, Dixie Chicks, etc) was in attendance and tweeted a photo of Mondo's performance saying “…we were there and one day everyone will say they were there. An amazing show.” Others in attendance echoed the praise including The 405 noting “@MondoCozmo is the best band you aren't listening to right now,” while Ones to Watch tweeted, “Just became the newest fans of @mondocozmo after seeing them at @itsaschoolnight this week.” Watch Mondo perform the hit single “Shine” live at Bardot HERE and see below for additional press highlights.
