Let Go Gears Up For The Release Of Their Self-Titled Debut

SoCal-based indie label The Militia Group is very proud to announce the signing of the much ballyhoo?ed LET GO and will be releasing their self-titled debut on October 4, 2005. ?We are extremely excited to have Let Go as part of the Militia Family,? said label president, Chad Pearson. ?The band stopped by the office before we signed them and we played pinball and ate pizza, and it just felt like we were all old friends.? Added vocalist/guitarist Jamie Woolford, ?We?re very stoked! We really like the music they put out and are honored to join a label of such great talent!? Continues Pearson, ?FYI: I ruled them at pinball!?

Comprised of Woolford, Chris Serafini (bass), and Scott Hessel (drums), Let Go found its origins in the wake of two great indie rock bands, The Stereo and Gloritone. ?After the break up of The Stereo, Chris joined Gloritone and forged a strong relationship with Scott, and I started to figure out what was next in line for me,? explained Woolford. ?I put together a bunch of demos and Chris and Scott agreed to rock with me and it all fell into place perfectly, and that was the beginning of Let Go.? Serafini, on the other hand, has a different theory: ?I?m pretty sure that aliens brought us together because we all share the same mark right behind our left ears and we all have vague recollection of being on a spaceship together... Ok, maybe we it was music.?

Let Go Track Listing
01: Illuminati
02: Spotlights
03: Bombs Away
04: Louise
05: Run & Hide
06: No Drugs, No Alcohol
07: 120 B.P.M.
08: Almost, Always Maybe
09: Paper-Cuts
10: Somewhere
11: Resistance is Futile
12: Bright Eyes, No Brains

More than anything, the music of Let Go speaks for itself. The band effectively lets go of pretension and makes a beeline for ?feel?ling? with the clever hooks and harder-rockin? sway of ?Spotlights?. The pure, yearning poppiness of ?Bombs Away? goes joyously off-roading through the dirt trails of your mind, while ?Somewhere? showcases a keen melodic sense and soaringly epic vocals. It is this kind of intense and careful songwriting that has always been trademark of Woolford (who also recorded and mixed the album).

In reference to the band name, Jamie explains enigmatically as usual, ?Chris says Let Go has something to do with the spaceship he?s been waiting for all his life... I guess the artwork reflects that. Now regarding the bear suit... well, that?s just plain wrong.?
