Genius (Ex.neve) Becomes Stars Align

Genius (featuring ex-members of Neve) have decided to change their name to Stars Align due to legal issues. Here?s what lead singer John Stephens had to say about the situation:

"Hello, my friends...

So yes, as you can see everything?s moving along quite nicely -- and QUICKLY!
Most noticeably, of course, we have a new name. If you do a trademark search
for our previous name at www.uspto.gov, you?ll get just a little taste of the
legal mess it was entangled in. And since our producer Joe Don says that NOW
is the time for him to start shopping the band to labels, we took the plunge and
changed our name. It?s actually quite refreshing to put away the past and move
forward fearlessly into the future. So much about this band is new anyway, even
without all the trademark crap, that a new name began to make more and more sense.

We?re excited about our show this Friday at the Viper Room with Augustana and
we?re excited about our new 4-song demo that Joe Don is about to start shopping
to labels. In fact, we just heard the final, final, FINAL mastered versions of the
songs from Gateway Mastering in Maine and they sound incredible. Our team is ready and anxious to record an entire album and get it out there for the world to hear.
A huge thanks goes out to everyone who?s been involved in the project so far!!
