NEEDTOBREATHE is happy to announce the release of their second full-length album with Atlantic Records! The album is called The Heat and is slated for release on August 28th, 2007. The band embraced much more responsibility in crafting the sound of this record, co-producing the entire record along with Rick Beato (Shinedown, Jump Little Children, Charlie Mars) and Ed Roland, lead singer of Collective Soul. Lead singer and guitarist Bear Rinehart had this to say about the new album:
"I think everybody wants to mature on their second record, and we certainly have. You can´t help but learn when you´re able to tour with great acts like Train, Edwin McCain, Collective Soul, Will Hoge, Sanctus Real, and Jars of Clay, but oddly enough I think the thing we gained most from the experience was the confidence to be ourselves. I remember approaching the release of our first record with a certain level of trepidation and a sense that we needed to prove something. This time around we just wish we could invite everyone over for a listening party and a barbecue. The Heat is far and away the best thing we have ever done." The band will be previewing tracks from "The Heat" at myspace.com/needtobreathe up until the August release, and is already out on the road in support of their sophomore effort.
And right now you can hear a sample of their first single "Signature of Devine (Yawheh)" @ their myspace.
Duran Duran — The band played at Birmingham´s Barberella´s nightclub so took their name from the villain of the cult Science Fiction film Barbarella, Dr. Durand-Durand.
