(PRESS RELEASE)JOURNEY NAMED ONE OF 2004?S RECIPIENTS OF A STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME;
?CLASSIC ROCK?S MAIN EVENT? TOUR EXTENDED INTO AUGUST Multi-Platinum rockers Journey is one of a new group of entertainers from the worlds of music, motion picture, television, theatre and radio who has been selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Journey is one of only four music artists chosen to receive their eternal place in Hollywood history in 2004 along with Jose Jose, Nancy Sinatra and Britney Spears. This honor comes thanks in large part to the band?s Promotion and Special Events Coordinator Caryn Sinagra, along with Cheryl Simien, member of the Journey Past & Present Committee, and Leslie White of Journeydigest.com, who spent years campaigning the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. A date for the ceremony has not been announced yet, but will take place at some point in 2004. Stay tuned for further details.
Meanwhile, Journey is currently criss-crossing the U.S. in front of sold-out crowds as headliners on VH1 Classic?s ?Classic Rock?s Main Event? tour with fellow road warriors REO Speedwagon and Styx. Due to overwhelming success, the trek has been extended into August (see below for dates). Once this tour concludes, Journey will head out on their own for another round of headlining shows. The new dates are currently being confirmed.
VH1 Classic?s ?Classic Rock?s Main Event? tour has been stirring up incredible critical praise since its launch May 10 in Las Vegas. As described by Mario Tarradell of the Dallas Morning News: ?The combination was perfect. Not only did all three groups command the charts at roughly the same time, but their respective sounds all come from the same school of strong melody, even stronger hooks, soaring vocals and that palatable mix of guitars, bass, keyboards and drums?Journey had the crowd on its feet and cheering boisterously. On that platform, the five members were polished pros, particularly veterans Neal Schon, he of the blistering yet smooth guitar solos, and Jonathan Cain, whose slick keyboard flourishes drive many of the hits?On cuts such as the power-ballad extraordinaire ?Open Arms,? ?Lights,? ?Any Way You Want It? and ?Don?t Stop Believin?? all the factors that make Journey and irresistible wall of sound joined forces.? And Lorilee Craker of the Grand Rapids Press concluded: ?The Main Event stop in our fair city was a fantastic night of music for fans of arena rock and rock fans, period.?

Phil Lynott fell asleep sitting while recording vocals for the track "Still in love with you" in 1974 for the "Nightlife" album. There is in fact a copy of this recording.
