The complete Bearsville albums collection is a 13 cd box set with all the albums released between 1972-1983 from the rock and roll greats Foghat.
The cd´s are newly remastered and sounding better than ever, no bonus tracks, just the classic records from start to finish. What else do we need? Perhaps a giant moustache?
We´re talking the band with greatest moustaches in rock and roll, and who hasn´t played airguitar to the 1977 album Foghat Live. One of the 20 best live albums ever.
This box set covers the era of the classic line up of Lonesome Dave Everett – Lead Vocals/Guitar, Rod Price – Lead Guitar, Craig McGregor – Bass and Roger Earl – Drums.
But also the original line up that also featured Tony Stevens – Bass, on the first 4 albums.
Dave Peverett was a great singer but tragically passed away in cancer at the age of 56 in the year of 2000, five years later in 2005, guitarist Rod Price died from a heart attack. He was 57.
Foghat´s sound is a perfect blend of boogie rock and southern rock similar to bands like Status Quo meets 38 Special and even Bachman Turner Overdrive at times.
Your classic rock collection isn´t complete without Foghat´s “Fool for the city”, “Night shift” or “Live”.
Their 80´s albums aren´t as good as the ones from the 70´s , the band went from boogie rock to new wave oriented rock a la The Motors on their 80´s albums, but they are still worth checking out.
