Review

The new EP from Anti-Flag is the 3rd release from Sideone Dummy Records in the Complete Control Sessions series, the first two are the bandsBouncing Souls and Scream. Pittsburgh punk rock band Anti-Flag formed in 1988 and has released 8 albums up to date, the core of the band is Justin Sane - Vocals/Guitar and Pat Thetic - Drums who have been in the band since the start and they are currently working on their new album "Magnum" that will be out later this fall. Anti-Flag played a show of The Clash covers in 2009 where some of them ended up recorded live in the studio for Complete Control Sessions such as "Should I stay or should I go", "Guns of Brixton/I fought the law and the law won" and "White riot". We also get new versions of fan faves like "This is the end", "Turncoat" and "The economy is suffering". This is a pretty raw EP but it suits Anti-Flag´s punkish sound right on, but I get the feeling this EP is only for the die hard fans. For me as a new listener of the band, I don´t get that much out of it as their loyal fans probably do.

Did you know that?

Paramore was officially formed by Josh Farro (lead guitar/backing vocals), Zac Farro (drums), Jeremy Davis (bass) and Hayley Williams (lead vocals) in 2004, with the later addition of Williams´ neighbor Jason Bynum (Rhythm Guitar). They took the name Paramore, which is derived from the latin saying unknown lover.;" once the group learned the meaning of the homonym paramour ("secret lover"), they decided to adopt the name, using the Paramore spelling.
