Review

Who could´ve thought back in 77 that punk rock would still be around alive and kicking in 2011? This genre has developed into several sub genres such as pop punk, emo and hardcore. The Massachusetts based band The Hotel Year plays punk rock seen through the eyes of a hardcore fan, they´re influenced by bands like The Early November, My Chemical Romance (their early stuff), Mest and Saves The Day. They´re close to touching indie rock once in a while on their new album "It never goes out", however the raw and energetic sound keeps them steady as a punkrock band more or less. If there was a horoscope for this genre and bands like The Hotel Year, it would say : "Don´t bother look for tomorrow, just make the best of what´s around today and remember to laugh at the mistakes you did yesterday, somehow tomorrow´s hangover might be worth it"
