Review

Is this a lost recording from 1982? Now, it truly sounds that way but this album is recorded in 2010. Careless is a progressive heavy metal trio featuring James Collins - Drums/Vocals, Walt Kosar - Guitar and Nolan Ayres - Bass. They are influenced by the NWOBHM era but also 70´s prog, the production ain´t exactly big budget but at least it´s live sounding and they are great musicians. They make instrumental solos sound interesting, just listen to the jazzy bass solo of "Between the mayhem" or the drum solo vs a sequencer in the cool "5ive". The opener "Curtains" bring thoughts to early Rush while the major part of the album will appeal to fans of albums like Shiva - Firedance (1981), Iron Maiden - Killers (1981) and Queensryche EP (1982).

Did you know that?

"The Verve" lost all the money from their hit song "Bitter Sweet Symphony" after it was shown that they were using a sample of the Rolling Stone "The Last Time."
