Review

Ryan Stars "11:59" is one of the Modern Rock's best records ever released. With a completely unique sound and immensely strong songs the albums has it all in my opinion, one of the few in my collection. This new Ep, which he very generously gave away for free, follow the same path as his debut with high-quality rock. Feels maybe a bit of leftovers in Ryan Star standards, but it's actually almost as good and would not be surprised if a couple showed up at the next record.

"America Ep" feels stylistically a bit more dramatic and emotional than "11:59”, a bit like his " Songs from the Eye of an Elephant”, but in a produced format. What fascinate me most there is his cool arrangements and cool melodies. The songs start in a common format, but transitions to new and exciting place. Very smart and very exciting to listen too! Free music can’t be much better than this!

Did you know that?

John Mellencamp was never comfortable with the fact that he had changed his name to the stage name ┬┤Johnny Cougar┬┤. However, his success made it difficult to change back, so in the 80s he became the hybrid John Cougar Mellencamp.
