Review

BlackLab over the years has given us several good albums and should be counted as one of the biggest bands in the classic modern rock scene. They were once signed to Geffen and Epic, but had many bad experiences during their major label period and just had one album out from that time. Do, however think, that the band actually got better after that and their last albums is more or less classic.

This new album called "Unplugged" contains like the title reveals the best of the band's career and in an acoustic format. It is better though to call it semi-acoustic when the album is pretty produced and contains more than just guitars and a piano.

I really like the format of it when the songs got a new touch in new arrangements and a different format. It feels a bit like a new experience with the band even though you have the previous record, which makes it intresting.

If you have the bands previous efforts this is worth checking out for sure. If not it’s a very good introduction, but would instead go for “See The Sun” or “Passion Leaves a Trace”.

Did you know that?

The name Nickelback originates from the nickel in change that member Mike Kroeger gave customers at his Starbucks job. He would frequently say "Here“s your nickel back."
