American Scarecrow is a new cool band with two members from Dropping Daylight and Kidnap Kings. Their debut album Keep Your Devils Around released on Triple Rock is a pleasant experience if you like folk-inspired rock. So it's not especially close in style to Dropping Daylight and their piano-based alternative rock. It is much more organic and classic in their sound, which feels very trendy today.

Can imagine that the band members grew up listening to bands like Counting CrowsWallflowers and similar since there are clear similarities with a nice alt country edge. Also add a dose of harmony sounding vocals ala Eagles and you get a band that feels very present and also alive. Perhaps Dropping Daylight little more unique in terms of style, but American Scarecrows actually has a bigger heart in their music and for a Midwest Rock lover like me this is a nice moment of music.

So if you like bands like CrowfieldMumford & Sons and the bands that I compared them with Keep Your Devils Around is clearly worth checking out.

Did you know that?

Foo Fighters are a term that was used by World War II pilots to describe strange flying fireballs they sometimes saw.
