Review

Dana Fuchs was asked to come in for an audition at Broadway for a musical about the life of Janis Joplin. Dana went in, sang a few bars of “Piece of My Heart,” and was offered the role on the spot. And I can understand why cause the girls sits on a very strong raspy voice. this album feels likes a mix of Joplin and more modern sounding girls like Sheryl Crow and Joan Osborne with a touch of Anouks sort of rock. It's good and solid and well worth to check out.

Did you know that?

Fightstar formed in late 2003 after Alex Westaway and Charlie Simpson, former Busted frontman, met at a party in Simpson´s London home. Following an impromptu jam session, Westaway and Simpson decided to form a band. After a few songs had been written, the band recruited bassist Dan Haigh, a school friend of guitarist Alex Westaway and drummer Omar Abidi.
