Linkin Park's fifth album "Living Things" sounds rather like one might expect it to do. The band continues to build their sound around electronic element like the previous "Minutes To Midnight" and "A Thousand Suns". However, it is a bit more commercial than expected and would like to say that it is the band's most commercial and soft album to date. Those who did not like the former and experimental albums will have a hard time even for this one that shows that LP today is not a pure rock act.
Think it works ok even if I think it's too little too pop-oriented and made for the charts than before. The synthesizers are a bit too intent to Coldplay mode, but assume that the band felt it was time to conquer the charts again.
And am quite convinced that the "Living Things" will do quite well as there are a bunch of great tracks like "Lost In The Echo," "I'll Be Gone" and "Burn It Down". The more odd "Skin To The Bone" and "Until It Breaks" will not fit, but as a whole, "Living Things" an ok album. By no means as good as the masterpiece "Hybrid Theory", but it has its moments and has a "pleasant" sound.
