City (Days) is the second album from the two-piece act Silence that hails from France. This album is softer if you compare it with the City (Nights) album. This is a great album and it sounds even more Mark Spiro than the Nights album did. If you own Now Is Then, Then Is Now and couple of albums after that with Mark Spiro then you will have a treat with this one and put in some Street Talk then you know what this is all about. Father is a fantastic with layers of melodies and a strong chorus. Footprints is stunning filled with layers of melodies and sounds like a mixture of Clif Magness and Mark Spiro. Jenny is a wonderful mid-tempo song filled with lovely melodies and the arrangements are just amazing, my favourite of this album. They have also done a nice cover of Mark Spiro’s Guardian Angel. Lift Me Up is another superb mid-tempo AOR-song with layers of melodies. Business has nice crunchy guitars and a strong rockier chorus. This French outfit has not released not only released one, but two great AOR-albums. This is definitely the two best album from this band so far. If your want your AOR more rockier, then check out City (Nights) because City (Days) is a bit softer. But I can recommend both because they are filled with great stuff.
Anberlin band member Stephen Christian has offered the explanations that he planned naming his first daughter Anberlin and that the name was a modification of the phrase "and Berlin" from a list of cities Christian wanted to visit. The one story that Christian asserts is true, however, is that he heard the word in the background noise of the Radiohead song "Everything in Its Right Place".
