Review

Guitarist/songwriter Bruno Levesque has not released one, but two new albums at the same time. They are called City (Nights) and City (Days). The Night album is a pure fantastic AOR-rock album filled with awesome tracks. If your into Street Talk, Mark Spiro, Urban Tale, A.O.R and Lionville then this is your cup of tea. The vocalist Ben Venet has a good voice. Just take a listen to Journey sounding Drifting Away that starts the album, a stunning AOR-rocker with brilliant guitars. Ghosts is nothing but a marvellous rocker with a modern feel over it, but the chorus is huge with classy harmonies. If your into Mark Spiro (Now Is Then, Then Is Now album) then check out Taste Of The Past. Crashing Down is pure AOR-heaven with wonderful keyboards and the chorus is catchy. A song that reminds little of Alias. They guys in Silence must have Mark Spiro as an influence because some of the songs sounds so much like him. Someday has Mark Spiro written all over it. On Insomnia Bruno shines out with impressive melodic riffs and the chorus is pure AOR-bliss. On Promised Land the Journey influences can be heard again, this is a great mid-tempo song. Just One Kiss On Your Heart written by Mr. Slama of A.O,R and this is a great AOR-rocker with a strong catchy chorus. City (Nights) is a cracker of a album filled with stunning AOR and there’s not a single filler. AOR at highest level with a good production and terrific guitar play from Levesque.

Did you know that?

July For Kings named their national debut album SWIM (in honor of their former band name).

They were originally called Vice to change to Swim and then finally to July For Kings.
