Review

The Road More or Less Traveled is the first ever live album from Swedish melodic rock band Treat, it was recorded in April 2016 on the Frontiers Rock Festival in Italy.
The line up on The Road More or Less Traveled is founding members Robert Ernlund - Lead Vocals, Anders Wikström - Guitars and long time drummer Jamie Borger - Drums, along with new bassplayer Pontus Egberg and guesting on keyboards is Jona Tee (H.E.A.T).
It´s a shame that there are no songs from The Pleasure Principle (1986), that album is so underrated with Treat. Instead, the band focus on their two latest releases Coup De Grace (2010) and Ghost of Graceland (2016) and selected tracks from Organized Crime (1989), Scratch and Bite (1985) and Dream Hunter (1987).
I can understand why they don´t play any songs from the 1992 album Treat since it´s the only album frontman Robert Ernlund isn´t singing on, he was replaced by Mats Levén (Swedish Erotica) in 1992.
If you´re familiar with their compilation Weapons of Choice from 2006, you know what a strong back catalogue this band has and this live album is no exception. Treat has picked some of their best songs and pull off a great performance, packaged in a crystal clear and big production.
How many Swedish bands can put "support act to Queen with Freddie Mercury" on their CV? Well, Treat can, they opened for Queen at Råsunda, Stockholm in 1986. That should be enough for the ones who doubt they´re a great live act.

Did you know that?

During 2001, before the band´s third release, the members of HIM (His Infernal Majesty) formed a new band called Daniel Lioneye. This was intended as a solo project of guitarist Linde, who took on the vocal spot and the stage name Daniel Lioneye for it. Migé Amour played bass, Ville Valo was on drums, with Hiili on keyboards, and Ike on sound effects. They released two albums, ´The King of Rock´n Roll´, in September 2001, and ´Vol. II´ in April 2010.
