Review

My name is Katherine Hudson, I´m 32 and I´m a popstar! That would be quite a cool introduction on Katy Perry´s upcoming world tour. I remember when I heard her hit single "I kissed a girl" on radio in 2008, I couldn´t see the greatness in this artist but after I watched her performance at the 2015 Super Bowl halftime show, I was hooked right away.
So I bought her 3 latest records and became a fan of the music, then I also became a fan of the person behind the name Katy Perry, when I saw her and James Corden doing the carpool Karaoke earlier in May this year.
She´s got a new haircut, new sound and new hits of course. We already know of "Chained to the rhythm", "Bon appetit" and "Swish Swish" but why isn´t the awesome 2016 single "Rise" included? That song should lift the new album "Witness" a bit more, not that I think it´s a bad album because I do enjoy songs like "Hey Hey Hey", "Roulette" and "Miss You More" that all sound like future hits.
15 tracks feels like a few too many and it´s in entirety, "Witness" doesn´t reach the same high level as her previous albums. But I´m not a fool to admit that it´s a perfect summer album because once the Katy Perry cycle has started, love is in the air and I just know that the album will sell like hotcakes.

Did you know that?

Myles Kennedy was in a band called ´Citizen Swing´ from Spokane, Washington. The band released two albums, Cure Me With the Groove and Deep Down, before disbanding in 1996. ´Cure Me With the Groove´ was a jazz-influenced pop album best described as Stevie Wonder meets Stevie Ray Vaughn, while Deep Down was a much heavier album, dropping all of the pop pretense in favor of heavy guitars, soaring vocals, solid and infectious beats and a bit of the ´jazz flair´ of the trumpet. Vocalist and lead guitarist Myles Kennedy, formerly of Cosmic Dust, eventually went on to front The Mayfield Four and later Alter Bridge.
