The London, U.K based Dirty Thrills formed after a successful drunken jam night in a quiet village pub in Wiltshire, what came out of that session was bluesy hard rock that has a big sign saying 1973.
Expect fuzz guitars, more fuzz guitars and even slide guitar on their second album "Heavy living". There wouldn´t be a real hard rock album without the riffs and riffs we get.
Mainstream radio will probably not play songs from "Heavy living" because there´s zero pop on it but who cares? I´m glad there are still bands out there like Dirty Thrills that doesn´t have to take the fast lane to the chorus.
"Heavy living" is more of a stoner rock album compared to their self-titled debut from 2014 that had a Led Zep/Bad Company vibe over it. The track "No resolve" is taken from the first album where I think lead singer Louis James´ voice is reminiscent of Davey Pattison (Gamma, Robin Trower). It´s quite remarkable that the best song is "Get loose" that the band or the label put as the track of the new album.
For fans of Stray Dog, Truckfighers, Rival Sons.
