Review

From time to time there pops up an unexpected band (at least to me, that is) that surprises you in a very positive way. One such band is BULLETS AND OCTANE from Los Angeles, US. This quartet delivers sleazy melodic hard rock with great twists and several kicks in the behinds of the masses, I tell you that.

Already in the energetic opener “Bad mother fu*ker” there’s even a punk:ish vibe, but the more melodic side of punk. This is almost like if RAMONES, THE CLASH and AC/DC would be able to form a hard rock band today. The aforementioned energy is there in almost every song, and it’s in a very positive way. Check out “When we were young” and see (hear) for yourself. Catchy stuff and even the harmony vocals are good, and that’s not a thing you can say about all punk or sleaze bands out there. There are occasional softer moments here as well, like the slightly BEATLES-esque song “Hostage”.

I’m not gonna rave on any more, since this is a bit outside of my regular genres. I just wanted to tip you off about a very good album.
