I used to like Plumb´s catchy pop/rock on her previous releases but she has locked away the rock and roll in the closet on the new EP "God Help Me" and only focus on the pop part. Only the title track comes close to the sound of her early albums, I can admit that this wouldn´t come as a surprise since Plumb already went the path of pop music on the previous album "Exhale". But I am disappointed over the weak melodies on this EP. If Evanescence decided to a clean pop-makeover, we´d get the track "I´m not alone", it´s ok I guess but not what I want to hear from Plumb. You can call me a grumpy old man now but I think it´s about time we stand up against the the wide-spreading disease of the walking dead of pop taking over. Soon everybody is pop, metal is pop, punk is pop, hip hop is pop, GET ME OUT OF HERE!
