It doesn?t happen too often in these times that you hear a band with 70?s influences in the glamrock way like these New York rockers White Light Motorcade, the first half of the record is real nice with some power
pop hooks a la Cheap Trick,Mott The Hoople and Marc Bolan.....that is the positive side of their debut "Thank you goodnight".

However the other half isn?t as amusing as the first 4-5 tracks, they remind me more of a style between Stone Roses,The Stooges and Andreas Johnson.
And the song "I could kick myself" sounds too much like The Hives I?m afraid and that makes me psychotic (almost).

I could do without the unmelodic and boring side of this band with songs like "Dream day" and "Useless",in a way the calm track "Closest" sounds like Tal Bachman (sort of) but not as good, anyway that one is
nice but to get to the warmer "alive and kicking" rock they play.....just put on "It?s happening" and you will stand up rocking along with WLM.

"My way" has some major 70?s feeling with a mix of Marc Bolan and Mott The Hoople, lovely song and "Semi precious" feels like a whiskey drinking rocker just the way I want it.
The album is a bit up and a bit down but when the sun shines through the foggy sleaze melodies,I get happy.

Did you know that?

Alexisonfire´s name was from a contortionist stripper, Alexis Fire, which nearly resulted in a lawsuit from the stripper´s representatives.
