Jimmy Page once again remastered The Song Remains The Same. The concert which originally was recorded on three evenings in Madison Square Garden and afterwards compiled to one concertmovie.
Although this remastered version does sound pretty clear and gives it a fresh polished sound for a live album, there is another side to the story.
I takes away just a little bit of soul, a bit of lets say the spine of this great classic.
Nevertheless this polished version is a fantastic journey thru the world of Led Zeppelin.
The original 1976 version wins on emotion, this one in soundquality.
Real die hard fans might say why doing this again and what is the difference between the previous remastered version? To be honest i can't hear a difference but there is an extended version which can be ordered.
A fun fact is that the release (Sept 7th 2018) is exactly 50 years after Led Zeppelin did their very first live performance as The New Yardbirds in Gladsaxe Teen Club of Gladsaxe, Denmark, before changing the name to Led Zeppelin.
