The album is entitled Shock. And this is exactly what it is. A total shock for me how far a band goes in their friendship with Def Leppard.
This is Def Leppard V2.
And not meant in a good way. The album is produced by Leppard's Phil Collen who also co wrote all the songs and did additional guitar and additional vocals.
On top of this i still get frustrated by the way Jeff Keith uses an annoying way of rasp on most of his vocals. Keith you can do way better than this, just don'r rasp.
When he doesn't rasp his vocals are more than ok.
Sadly Collen's co writing means the songs sound very much like DL and with his backing vocals V2 is complete.
Tesla should do some steps away from Collen and come up with something original themselves.
Although musically it is produced well the songs are cheesy, not original and after two spins i got bored.
This is not the right step forward for Tesla, but who cares they landed support act for the upcoming Def Leppard tour. So the money is great and Def Leppard fans will love this album as well probably.
The only thing that is really good is the album title. They could not be more correct.
1. You Won’t Take Me Alive
2. Taste Like
3. We Can Rule The World
5. Love Is A Fire
6. California Summer Song
7. Forever Loving You
8. The Mission
9. Tied To The Tracks
11. I Want Everything
12. Comfort Zone
