Review

If you’re a real fan of melodic rock, then TONY CAREY needs no introduction. But I’ll mention real short that he’s been in one of the RAINBOW line-ups, released great albums under the PLANET P monicker and has of course also given us marvellous solo albums through the years.

Now there’s a new album out, entitled “Lucky us”. It’s a fairly short album on less than 40 minutes and you must all know that it is very, very, very soft. OK? Ten songs with mainly piano, keyboards, classical guitar and vocals. Still, Tony still knows how to write songs and his voice is still really good – with so much feeling! Quite similar to the one of MARK SPIRO. “I never go anywhere alone” is a fine example. Just lovely.

Don’t see the grading (3.5) as written in stone. I am sure this album is a grower.
