Review

Last year, this successful popmetal band with the huge hit of the Michael Jackson cover "Smooth criminal" nearly died on a roadway in Spain when their tour bus collided with a truck, killing their driver and seriously injuring the band and crew, frontman Dyren Mitchell broke his neck and all of a sudden there were more important things to life than to think about the next record.
However,Mitchell came back to normal life after a while and started to writing songs again to the other bandmembers big surprise,so together with the Stone temple Pilots members and brothers Dean and Robert DeLeo-Alien Ant Farm put together their 2nd album "truANT" that feels like a happy mix of popmetal with some possible hits on it like the acoustic groovy "Glow" or why not the addictive "Driftin part"(Rush/Police going modern rock).
The first single though titled "1000 days"
aren?t good enough to impress me and I think it will have a hard time being as successful as the Wacko Jacko cover they did in 2001.
I also think that Jay Baumgardner did a better job at the production on the debut than these grungrocking DeLeo bros, tracks like the reggae smelling "Never meant" goes by unnoticed not to mention the latino influenced "Tia Lupe" which doesn?t belong on the album at all drags the rating down a whole lot.
"These days" will truly be a real party rocker for many parties to come hereafter and this album will probably sell enough to save ?em on Dreamworks for a third record but revolutionary?!,no no....just another rock album that none will discuss in 5 years.
