Review

Powerpop/punk(light) is what I would like to call this New Jersey band?s sound, this is their 4th album and according to
other critics also the poppiest effort so far,I like their charming melodies and happy sound but sadly the whole CD ain?t that good.
"In Reverie" feels like a roller coaster ride with all it?s ups and downs, the opening track "Anywhere with you" is a powerpop goodie but 2nd track "What went wrong" goes by unnoticed,3rd song "Driving in the wind" is one of the better on the new album and my mood is up again just to be taken down with "Rise" and "In reverie".
Maybe they should?ve done an EP instead when it?s obvious the band don?t have songs for a whole record, then it?s something about the production.....it smells garage rock in some way and that gives me the creeps.
This album is their first for Dreamworks but it doesn?t sound like a major label release at all, independent releases can ofcourse sound really good but it?s more often you hear a lowbudget sounding album when it?s an indie release than a major label.
I can appreciate this on a sunny day when I?m already in a good mood but it won?t work to get me up when I?m down, only ok will be
my final rating.
