Review

Big Pop sounding trio with a sophomore release that is quite impressive,"Ghosts" is the follow up and their major debut to the first indie "Capture" from 2001 and the music goes in the same vein as Atticus Fault,Flickerstick and Longwave but not maybe that progressive as Atticus Fault but just as dreamlike and huge sounding.
Sleeping at last started in a basement somewhere near Chicago but is now based in Illinois and the members Ryan O?Neal (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Dan Perdue (keyboards, bass); Chad O?Neal (drums, percussion) have Radiohead and Sunny Day Real Estate as their major influences and it can be heard on this wonderful album.
After they had played a gig at Metro,Chicago in 2001-Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins walked by the guys of SAL and they handed over a copy of "Capture" to him and the next day Corgan called them up to say that he was impressed by their work and believed in their music as well as teaching the band how to arrange songs.
As a matter of fact,Bjorn Thorsrud who produced SAL has also worked with Smashin Pumpkins and the result is A+.
Just listen to the impulsive and spacy "Hurry" with the cool sound effect of an old dusty record,my mind has been taken for a ride in a wonderful daydream or am I maybe Sleeping at last?!
