Here is a new guy for us all to check out. A CD mixed will all sorts of cool styles and with a joyful musical ground. Imagine Ben Folds mixed with a soul edge a´la Prince and Seal mixed with Lenny Kravitz and a little touch of westcoast pop a´la America. Thats what we´re dealing with here. And a charming mix. The opening track ´Running Away´ is pure melodic pop heaven with an ounce of soul in the mix. Cool for sure. The album continues in the same way without reaching the extraordinary heights as the opener. Still, there are plenty of cool songs here, like the softer ´Will And Surrender´ with almost a westcoast edge a´la America mixed with a Ben Folds and Lenny Kravitz edge, and ´Tempted´ is cool with a straight ahead drumbeat a´la Prince, mixed with Seal´s sort of soft soul pop. And track 9 is another ´westcoast-ish´ track with flirts of both Bill Champlin and Doobie Brothers. Sure a cool guy Mr Gallagher. And I´m happy I discovered him.
