Review

A Canadian trio with leader Ruben Huizenga who sounds like a lost member of R.E.M,his new band Micro Maureen has a more guitardriven Powerpop style but many parts in their music reminds of R.E.M.
Ruben used to play with EDWIN before and he rocked more back then,I like his unique voice and the rough sounding pop style on this album but it?s far from being a classic.
You have to appreciate it R.E.M to even start listening to Micro Maureen, enough talking about the similarities now.....Ruben and his 2 fellowmembers have a cool style on their own with some Marc Bolan influences also.
The song "Falling back" is a strong track that stands out,the most important thing is that you have to give these guys a chance by letting the record spin for at least 3-4 times before judging them.
I didn?t think the album was that special the first time I heard it but it?s slowly growing on me.
