Review

1985 was a highly memorable year in the history of hard rock/metal coz this band WARRIOR debuted with the legendary "Fighting for the earth",one of that years most played albums in all categories...ohyes,with songs like "Ruler","Defenders of creat?on" and the title track "Fighting for the earth"-the success was a fact!
They had the mighty singer of Parramore McCarty in the band which with his masculine voice lifted the songs up to a higher level,he later joined Steve Steven?s Atomic Playboys in 89 for only 1 album but it was pretty good.
It took 13 years for Warrior to return to the record business but this time without singer McCarty on the 2 albums "Ancient future"(98) and "The code of life"(2001) which was two rather uninteresting works that you don?t have to waste any time looking for.
However, last year guitarist Joe Floyd asked Krokus singer Marc Storace if he wanted to sing on the new album and here?s the result!,"The Wars of Gods and men" has the old typical Warrior sound again with Floyd?s razosharp guitarplaying running through every song.
Marc is a tremendous singer and the songs are really good like the Black Sabbath smelling "Salvation",the suggestive "Mars" or the opening pulsive title track "The wars of gods and men",ofcourse I miss the mighty bass vocals from the debut but this is without doubt Warrior?s 2nd best album.
They won?t make a new chapter in the history of rock with this album but it will please many fans such as me,load your guns-the ammo is here!
