Sometimes it so damn easy to review CDs. And thank God for that. I mean normally the first problem occurs when we have to decide categories for the CDs. Then we have to judge production, performance, songwriting and a bunch of other stuff. So it?s so good to have an album like this once in a while? First of all the category? it?s damn easy to tell? it spells M I D W E S T rock. Nothing else. Then you have the production signed by Mike Wanchic (Guitar-player from Mellencamps band.) It?s just perfect. Then you have the performance by the band, and that is also damn fine with the voice of John Woosley (AKA Little John Louie) as the diamond. Lovely voice. Then you have the songwriting that also is real fine. Well you get the grip don?t you? If you like me enjoy pure heartland midwest rock this album is more than a must. The follow up album to last years debut "Blacktops & Blackouts" opens up with the killer tune ?Silver Dollar?, and third out, the Wallflowers-smelling ?Hold? is another fine example. Fourth out, the Del Amitri like ?One Lonely Night? is one example and the rockier seventh out ?Big Black Car? listens like a young and horny Mellencamp from the mid-80?s. Well there are a bunch of songs in this calibre where you can hear the Faces, and the early-70s era Rolling Stones in their countrified roots rock. So if you?re a sucker for Midwest rock surf away at once and buy a copy. I?m in love. And so will you after you have purchased this album.
