Jenny Beck is a 25 year old singer/songwriter that was born in Sweden but now lives in England since 3 years back, she has both produced, written, played the guitar and handled all the vocals on her first album "Morning rain". Her biggest idol is Joni Mitchell and that can truly be heard on this *springflower* of an album, when I listen to her sing I come to think about the Corrs sisters with the folkrock inspired side of her music. This is acoustic based pop in the same brand as Tanita Tikaram,Joni Mitchell and The Corrs, what is interesting about Jenny is that she is currently working on her "real" debut album in collaboration with the vocalist from Feeder for a release in fall 2004. This indie release is very short with 12 songs over a running time of 38 minutes,Jenny has a tender and positive voice and also writes positive lyrics. Still I wish to hear some of the songs with a more big budget production coz the album sounds a bit lame,I hope she will re-record beautiful songs like "Restless traveller","Hello","Morning rain" and "Clouds". Although she is very talented and could go far.
