Review

The style of music that Digby plays is not a unique style. Not one percent unique to be honest. But that is not necessary when we have a band delivering the same smart and well produced powerpop as Jason Falkner, Ben Folds and Bleu are so good at. Digby is sure a great new discovery I recently did at the great www.audiolunchbox.com site, where you can download new independent music. And for a very good price. Digbys album cost only 7,99$ and that includes the whole album incl artwork. It is for sure a good way to explore new music. Well, back to Digby then. What are doin them so good? Well, first of all the voice of Paul Moeller. A voice that are in the same world class as Jason Falkners. Superb voice with that extra attitude painting the powerpop landscape. And then you have the songwriting which also is in a very high class. And in a lot of various moods. The opening track is a killer powerpop bomb and so is second out "If You Only Knew" as well. A tune that smells Ben Folds a long way. Third out "Too Late" with distorted guitars in the verse and a tremendous refrain, smells Moon Martin and the older generation of powerpop. Damn good tune as well. And that is just the opening troika. The whole album is this good and it is a hidden treasure waiting for you to be downloaded at audioluncbox.com. If you wanna buy it "for real" instead - check out godigby.com and buy it from their homepage. A CD you need in your collections if you love powerpop. Its that easy. Lovely piece of work.
